Windows that Wow!

Windows. Hopefully your dorm or apartment will have at least one! The rule on windows is this...Keep it simple but fun.

There are many ways to work with windows. The easiest and most popular way is to put up curtains, panels or a valance. Make sure you mount your window treatments with spring tension rods: they allow for flexibility of window size and you'll be able to use the rods year after year. Drape and embellish your windows with ribbons, bows, a cute set of bed sheets, or a coordinating valance or panel. If your room is on the small side, make sure to stick with sheer panels, or light colors to give a sense of space. Like the darker, warmer tones? Don't worry, you can still achieve that warm, cozy feeling - just choose slightly lighter shades to achieve the balance between warmth and space.

Another fun idea for jazzing up your windows is to take colored plastic wrap and cut out cute shapes. When you stick the wrap on the window panes it creates a stained glass effect. Or if you're feeling crafty, you can create your own "painted" window clings in any shape or pattern you like!

And don't forget string lights! Pop some around the inside of the window frame and watch them twinkle. Trust me, you'll enjoy relaxing in your room while the lights twinkle away.

The most important idea when it comes to windows is to make them unique and fun!!
